Hello and welcome to the 'Fun on the Fields' festival webpage!
A great big thank you to the whole community of Woolacombe and Mortehoe for the fantastic support shown to the Fireworks on the Field held last week*
It would be impossible to stage these sorts of events without the people and local businesses that volunteer their help, time and support* We are especially grateful to the following:
Greg & his team who built our magic bonfire & fantastic firework display, & made us all feel so safe*
The Woolacombe Bay Hotel and Parkins for providing free use of their car parks for the night*
Our local beat officer and PCSO, for policing the event and coming back in the morning to help with the clear up*
All the Playdays’ Mums who came to set up, cleaned, shopped ‘til they dropped, stood behind the tables to serve food and drink and then came back to clear up once the whole thing was done!
Nick and Rachel Zeale, for providing the hay and the loader*
Londis staff for counting all the money*
Shirleys & The Red Barn for selling tickets*
Fudgies, for not only providing the baked potatoes, but for cooking them and delivering them hot ready to serve*
Simon Ashford & Andy Heal for their help setting up and clearing the site on the following day*
There is always the risk when thanking people that others will get left out, please forgive us if we haven’t mentioned you by name but we are very grateful to everyone who helped in every way*
We couldn’t have anticipated the huge numbers of people that turned up to the actual event, so thank you to the wider community for their patience on the night and for coming to support us*
Charities that we are donating to are: Shelter Box, North Devon Hospice, Children in need, Busy Bees & Woolacombe School*
